What's the difference between digital and traditional watercolor? As an illustrator I work primarily with digital tools like Photoshop. I've created a unique style that flawlessly mimics traditional watercolor. After I've sketched and painted the image digitally, color changes and tweaks are easy because I can edit things with the click of a mouse.
My traditional watercolor style blends watercolor washes and watercolor pencils on high quality cold pressed watercolor paper. No mouse clicks here, so it takes more time, but you get an original work of art your family can cherish for years.
No matter what option you choose, it's easy to get started. Email me and we'll talk about what sort of photo you should send. I'll do a rough sketch that you can approve. Then I'll create a final portrait. With nine years of experience working with all sorts of clients as a children's book illustrator, I know how to make sure you are thrilled with the final piece of art.
Pricing*:
Digital Portrait: $75
Traditional Portrait: $150
*Pricing includes up to 4 family members. Obviously, painting multiple people takes longer than painting only several. If you have a large family (or 12 dogs), we'll work together to develop fair pricing.
Add Ons:
Archival White Matte for 8x10 frame ($10)
Additional prints on watercolor paper using archival inks ($15)
Custom framing available upon request.
Portraits with backgrounds or larger sizing are also available upon request for an additional fee (fee depends on complexity and size of the custom portrait).
